Senior SRE - Azure Cloud Migration
🔥 URGENT CONTRACT ROLE: City of London
- Rate: £400 per day (Inside IR35)
- Location: City of London (Hybrid: 2-3 days onsite/week)
- Security: Active SC Clearance OR Eligibility to Obtain
- Core Focus: Hands-on SRE for Azure Cloud Migration following the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
🎯 Role Summary (Hands-on Delivery)
- Goal: Migrate two applications to the new Azure platform (CAF principles).
- Focus: Transition from traditional infrastructure to Azure Cloud-Native solutions.
- Methodology: Work within an Agile environment with a strong DevOps/SRE background.
- Stakeholders: Senior role interacting with Product Owners and Senior Management.
🛠️ Essential Technical Expertise
- Cloud Platform: Extensive Azure experience, especially application migration.
- Frameworks: Proven track record using Azure CAF, WAF, and AzureRM.
- IaC: Terraform (Hands-on Infrastructure as Code expertise).
- CI/CD: Building/Maintaining pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Cloud-Native: Designing solutions, including VM Scale Sets.
- Networking: Designing solutions for Load Balancers, Firewalls, Routing, Application Gateway, and network security.
- Azure Services: Configure/Optimise Front Door, SQL, Load Balancers.
- SRE/Ops: Azure monitoring, performance management, testing, and complex troubleshooting.
🤝 Collaboration & Communication
- Required: Strong communication with both technical and less-technical colleagues.
- Documentation: High-quality design and handover documentation.
- Process: Familiarity with good change control processes.
- Teamwork: Collaborate closely with Cyber Security, Testing, and Cloud Operations teams.
- Leadership: Review delivery plans and challenge constructively.
⭐ Desirable Criteria
- Cloud Service Certifications.
- Sr. Technical Leadership experience.
- Knowledge of Product/Platform Operating Models.
- Experience with AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) is beneficial.
