Overview

We are looking for an experienced OT/IT Network Architect to join a leading organisation on a hybrid basis in Hull. This role is critical in bridging the gap between Operational Technology (OT) and Information Technology (IT), ensuring the design and deployment of secure, scalable, and efficient network infrastructure that supports both enterprise systems and industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

Network Design and Architecture

• Develop integrated network architectures across OT and IT systems.
• Ensure network designs are scalable, resilient, and future-proof.
• Document network configurations, protocols, and architecture plans.

Security and Compliance

• Implement tailored cybersecurity strategies for OT environments (ICS, SCADA).
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and industry standards (NIST, ISO, IEC).
• Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability testing.

Integration and Collaboration

• Drive seamless data and system integration between OT and IT landscapes.
• Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, and engineering teams.
• Support applications and systems dependent on network infrastructure.

Monitoring and Maintenance

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
• Maintain and upgrade network components as required.
• Ensure continuous uptime for critical infrastructure.

Skills and Experience Required

Technical Expertise

• Strong grasp of networking protocols: TCP/IP, VLAN, VPN, SDN.
• Hands-on experience with ICS, SCADA, and industrial Ethernet.
• Advanced knowledge of cybersecurity in OT environments.
• Familiarity with cloud and edge computing frameworks.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Network Engineering, or similar.
• Desirable certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE, CISSP, CompTIA Network+.

Experience

• Minimum 10 years in network architecture/engineering roles.
• Exposure to OT systems in industrial or manufacturing settings.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• Adaptable, with a keen interest in new technologies.

Bonus Attributes

• Experience with IoT networks and device integration.
• Awareness of AI/ML in OT/IT infrastructure.
• Leadership or mentoring experience in technical teams.
