The company provides end-to-end electric metering solutions, specialising in design, manufacturing, testing, and commissioning. Its UKAS-accredited lab produces high-accuracy metering systems used by National Grid, major UK power stations, and offshore wind farms.
Role Overview
The Workshop Technician is responsible for assembling and wiring high-accuracy metering systems in floor-standing cubicles and wall-mounted enclosures. Key duties include:
- Reading and following electrical wiring diagrams to ensure compliance.
- Wiring panels neatly and efficiently.
- Adhering to safety rules, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Delivering high-quality workmanship to meet business targets and customer satisfaction.
- Checking, testing, and recording results of completed work.
- Updating drawings to reflect as-built status.
- Using hand and wiring tools efficiently.
- Collaborating effectively within the workshop team and environment
- Occasionally supporting site installation work.
Requirements
- Understanding of electrical diagrams.
- Experience wiring or as a wireman
- Ideally experience with control panels
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Proactive team player.
